Why choose Nuffield Health for your physiotherapy treatment?
Nuffield Health is a not-for-profit organisation which means we have no shareholders and are able to invest all our profits back into the treatments and services we provide.
What makes us different
As the country’s largest not-for-profit healthcare organisation, our facilities and the treatments we provide are subject to the strictest standards of clinical governance, ensuring we provide the most up-to-date and effective care. What this means for our Physiotherapy patients is that we can guarantee we will only ever provide the most clinical appropriate amount of sessions needed to get you well; never under or over treating you. We are proud that the majority of our patients are successfully treated in five sessions or less, meaning you get back to better, quicker.
Our network and practitioners
We're the largest provider of Physiotherapy in the UK, outside of the NHS, offering the widest range of physiotherapy services and employing some of the country’s most skilled practitioners. All of our physiotherapists are HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council) and CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy) registered and have at least three years’ experience, guaranteeing you are in safe hands throughout your treatment.
In 2011 over 57,000 physiotherapy patients were treated and discharged by Nuffield Health with a positive post treatment outcome reported in 76.6% of cases with an average of five treatment sessions required per case.
We provide a full range of treatments to suit all manner of issues and injuries, from the common to the complex, including:
- Spinal/back care
- Sports injury rehabilitation
- Ante and post natal physiotherapy
- Women's Health physiotherapy
- Men's Health physiotherapy
- Arthritis and joint care
- Rehabilitation after surgery or long term injury/illness
- Clinical pilates
If you aren’t sure whether physiotherapy is right for you, or you want confidential advice about pain or injury you can fill in our simple form on the right for advice from our Physiotherapy triage team within one working day.
We believe you should never have to wait for treatment as delays in getting the right care for your injury can mean it gets worse. That’s why we provide rapid access to our physiotherapy services, with appointments often available within 24 hours.
We will endeavour to get you an emergency appointment as close as possible to your work or home, however unfortunately we can't guarantee this will be at your closest centre but we'll try our best to accommodate you to help relieve your symptoms as fast and conveniently as possible.
As well as treating your pain and injury, we believe in helping you minimise your risk of future injury. We do this by dedicating part of your treatment to understanding what has caused your injury and advising you on ways to avoid recurrence of the problem in the future. All our physiotherapists are trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) so that they can give you the tools and information you need to have a faster recovery and stay injury-free in the future.
Exercise is an essential part of recovering from pain or injury and then returning to your pre-injury fitness levels. Our physios will prescribe the right exercise programme for you and talk you through how to do your exercises and how often as well as what kinds of exercise to avoid. Because exercise is so important to your rehabilitation, we offer all our patients free one-month gym memberships to any one of over 110 Fitness & Wellbeing Gyms to use while they are in treatment with us.
