Your initial 45-minute appointment involves an assessment and treatment. We assess your pain and symptoms to determine the cause of these symptoms, then recommend a treatment plan for you and begin this treatment. Follow-up appointments are 30 minutes. Your physiotherapist will advise how many appointments you will need but you can stop treatment at any time.

How can I help you improve your health?

Claire initially qualified as a Sports Therapist in 2007 and used her education to lecture on Sport and Exercise BTECs and A-level programmes as well as treating and rehabilitating rugby injuries on and off the pitch.

She later graduated from University of Hertfordshire, in 2013, with a 1st Class honours degree. Claire followed her passion for Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in the NHS, by rotating specifically within musculoskeletal outpatient departments.

She gained a promotion to a Senior Physiotherapist in 2015, before heading to the Austrian Alps to work as a mobile private physiotherapist during ski seasons.

Claire has always been a sports and fitness enthusiast, having played both team and individual sports to county level. This reflects well in her practice, as she can apply her knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics to sports injury and treatment, across a variety of sporting fields.

Karla worked for five years in the NHS gaining a wide variety of experience in different clinical specialities before moving into the private sector. Karla also used to work for a rugby club and particularly enjoys treating the spine; she also has an interest in golf biomechanics and injuries and has worked with professional golfers.

How can I help you improve your health?

James has a BSc honours degree in sports therapy and subsequently studied at the University of Brighton were he gained a masters level degree in Physiotherapy. James is also currently studying modules at the University of Herefordshire towards a post-registration diploma.

Between 2013- 2017 James predominantly worked in the NHS in musculoskeletal physiotherapy outpatient departments and between 2014-2017 as a senior musculoskeletal physiotherapist. This involved seeing patients referred via their GP practice with a wide range of expectations, needs and medical conditions. Additionally, James has worked privately in North London treating a varied caseload involving orthopaedic/ occupational health clients.

James’s passion lies in the rehabilitation of sporting injuries with a further interest in pain science. He has an individualised approach to his assessment and management of his patients empowering them to meet their goals.

How can I help you improve your health?

Mikaela qualified in 2010 from Keele University with a BSc (Hons) 1st class honours in Physiotherapy. She joined Nuffield Health in February 2014, and moved to St Albans Nuffield Health in February 2015. She has gained post-graduate training in acupuncture (Dry needling), clinical pilates and taping techniques.

Mikaela completed her pilates teaching qualification in September 2012 and has continued to complete courses in pre-natal pilates, pilates for skiers and pilates with small equipment.

Clinically, Mikaela specialises in winter sports injuries having worked closely with both able-bodied and para winter sports teams. She also has an interest in pregnancy related pain, post -operative rehabilitation and other sporting injuries.
