Your initial 45-minute appointment involves an assessment and treatment. We assess your pain and symptoms to determine the cause of these symptoms, then recommend a treatment plan for you and begin this treatment. Follow-up appointments are 30 minutes. Your physiotherapist will advise how many appointments you will need but you can stop treatment at any time.

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a profession whose aim is to encourage and support the return to normal following illness, surgery, disease or trauma. It can be effective in the treatment of a range of muscle, joint and nerve conditions.

Physiotherapists use a wide range of techniques such as manual therapy and exercise prescription to maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease.

How can I help you improve your health?

Prior to working at Reading Nuffield Fitness & Wellbeing Gym Anthony did his junior physiotherapy rotations in the NHS. During this time he had exposure to a broad spectrum of patients in orthopaedics, musculoskeletal outpatients, neurology and respiratory physiotherapy before deciding to specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Anthony then moved to work in private practice in Caversham.

Since starting with Nuffield Health Anthony has commenced an MSc in Advanced Manipulative Physiotherapy at Birmingham University.

How can I help you improve your health?

Neil works at Reading two days a week, the other days he is working at other Nuffield sites and as a the Clinical Lead for the Region. Neil holds a particular interest in hip and groin related pain.

Neil strives to ensure that clients feel they have a good understanding of their pain or injury, and feel fully informed about how and why physiotherapy can help. He has a strong focus on treating the root cause of symptoms and uses a variety of treatment methods, including manual therapy, taping and pilates-based rehabilitation.
