How can I help you improve your health?
Since graduating from the University of Northumbria in 2007 I have worked at the Newcastle Hospitals RVI, Freeman and General completing a variety of rotations in complex respiratory medicine, HDU/ ITU, working with transplant patients, hands, burns and plastics, elderly and MSK.
I then progressed to telephone triage and outpatient’s physiotherapy/ GP surgeries treating patients with more complex MSK problems.
I came to work at the Nuffield Hospital Tees in 2010. The Nuffield Physiotherapy department has given me the opportunity to work with a variety of patients. We have close links to our specialist consultants this enabling effective management of the patient’s journey.
I enjoy treating all aspects of musculoskeletal problems and helping patients on their journey to maximum function. I am moving towards specialising in treating patients after spinal surgery and general spinal rehabilitation.
As my background lies within teaching aerobics, gym instruction and dance I enjoy taking the spinal rehabilitation classes and in particular teaching Pilates. I have also found many benefits in using acupuncture especially with patients with knee, shoulder, back and neck pain and those suffering with headaches/ migraines.
To date I have completed many post gradual courses including: APPI Pilates Mat work 1, Foundation In acupuncture course, End stage lower limb Rehabilitation, Trigger Point Therapy Course, Combined Movements: Mobilisation (IV+) and Manipulation (IV-) of the Cervical Spine, Orthopaedic medicine for the cervical spine and upper limb, office ergonomics and work station assessments.
