What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a profession whose aim is to encourage and support the return to normal following illness, surgery, disease or trauma. It can be effective in the treatment of a range of muscle, joint and nerve conditions.

Physiotherapists at our Barbican Medical Centre use a wide range of techniques such as manual therapy and exercise prescription to maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease.

We can offer expertise in upper limb and hand rehabilitation, pain management programmes and post-surgical recovery. Many of our therapists are also trained in Pilates, Acupuncture and Joint Manipulation, carrying out thorough biomechanical assessments to enhance and optimize function.

We have strong links with many orthopaedic consultants and have an excellent track record in the rehabilitation of upper and lower limb sports injuries. In addition, we can offer pre and post-natal treatment and advice as well as vertigo and balance rehabilitation with our vestibular specialist.

How can I help you improve your health?

I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2004 after working as a fitness instructor and massage therapist. Since qualifying, I have worked within the NHS and privately. I joined Nuffield Health in 2009 and have continued to work here ever since as a Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist seeing a huge variety of conditions. The training at Nuffield has been second to none and I now use an eclectic range of treatment techniques that have proved very effective in getting results. I have continued to update my skills over the years and qualified as a Cranial Sacral therapist in 2012. And although this is not a therapy I would use as ordinarily it has provided me with another useful tool in managing MSK conditions. I remain wholeheartedly committed to delivering effective manual therapy with a holistic approach.

My Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy
  • Cranio-sacral Therapist

My Professional Memberships
