Jenna Nicola Physiotherapist About

Jenna Nicola

Physiotherapist

How can I help you improve your health?

I qualified with a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) degree in Occupational Therapy in 2013 and specialise in the field of Hand Therapy, working with both adults and children who have sustained injuries to the hand and upper limb, as well as a variety of congenital and acquired hand conditions.

I have developed my expertise working overseas, as well as in the NHS, over the last 10 years. I am BAHT Level 2 qualified and intend to continue specialising within the field.

In the hand therapy field, I have developed protocols for the management of arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome and de Quervain’s, managing these conservatively as well as post-operatively. Having worked at a hospital with a high volume of patients receiving joint replacements of the hand and wrist, I am well-versed in managing these post-operatively.

I am passionate about managing trauma to the upper limb, such as fractures and tendon and ligament injuries, thus preserving hand function and allowing my patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Although my speciality is Hand Therapy, I have experience working in a variety of settings, including neurological rehabilitation, trauma and orthopaedics, acute medical rehabilitation and burns.

My goal as an Occupational Therapist is to help people reach their full potential, regain their independence and return to their full capacity.

I am registered with the HCPC, RCOT and BAHT and enjoy attending courses to ensure I am developing my knowledge and staying up to date with the latest research.

My Professional Memberships
