What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a profession whose aim is to encourage and support the return to normal following illness, surgery, disease or trauma. It can be effective in the treatment of a range of muscle, joint and nerve conditions.

Physiotherapists at Nuffield Health East Kilbride Fitness & Wellbeing Gym use a wide range of techniques such as manual therapy and exercise prescription to maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease.

Our Physiotherapy team are all experienced clinicians, members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and are registered with the Health Professions Council. So you can relax in the knowledge you're in the hands of the experts.

We can offer expertise in upper limb and hand rehabilitation, pain management programmes and post-surgical recovery. Many of our therapists are also trained in Pilates, Acupuncture and Joint Manipulation, carrying out thorough biomechanical assessments to enhance and optimize function.

We provide comprehensive assessments and treatments tailored to your exact needs. Your Physio will look at your medical history and carry out a thorough physical examination to determine the best course of action.

Katrine Ross

Senior Physiotherapist

How can I help you improve your health?

I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2014 from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Since qualifying I have worked in private practice in Australia and after moving to Scotland (after hearing about the great weather) I have worked as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in Occupational Health in Glasgow. Through these I have experience in working with clients affected from a broad range of musculoskeletal disorders from acute and chronic injuries, to work related and postural conditions. I joined Nuffield Health September 2019.

I am passionate about making sure people achieve their goals whether it is being able to work pain free, walking for longer or getting back to playing their chosen sport. I have a particular interest in hip and knee musculoskeletal conditions and have attended various courses on both. I have played a variety of sports throughout the years so understand the varying demands placed on the body and tailor your exercise programme to help achieve the best outcomes for you. My pet sports are running, swimming, tennis and Tae Kwondo.
