Your initial 45-minute appointment involves an assessment and treatment. We assess your pain and symptoms to determine the cause of these symptoms, then recommend a treatment plan for you and begin this treatment. Follow-up appointments are 30 minutes. Your physiotherapist will advise how many appointments you will need but you can stop treatment at any time.

Physiotherapy at Nuffield Health Merton Abbey - How could it help you?

The aim of physiotherapy is to help improve quality of life by restoring movement and normal body function where a patient is injured or recovering from surgery. Physiotherapy is commonly used in the successful treatment of muscle and joint conditions, such as back and lower limb pain, as well as more complex complaints including women's health issues and post-operative rehabilitation.

A physiotherapy session includes an interview, examination, evaluation, understanding of your perception and expectation, giving a clinical diagnosis and delivering treatment.

Our physiotherapists at Merton Abbey Fitness & Wellbeing Centre take a holistic approach to treatment, looking at the whole body, and use a wide range of manual techniques. They also offer lifestyle, ergonomic and exercise guidance to try to minimise the risk of the injury reoccurring, or the patient experiencing further problems in the future.

At Nuffield Health Merton Abbey Fitness & Wellbeing Gym we also have:
