Your initial 45-minute appointment involves an assessment and treatment. We assess your pain and symptoms to determine the cause of these symptoms, then recommend a treatment plan for you and begin this treatment. Follow-up appointments are 30 minutes. Your physiotherapist will advise how many appointments you will need but you can stop treatment at any time.

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a profession whose aim is to encourage and support the return to normal following illness, surgery, disease or trauma. It can be effective in the treatment of a range of muscle, joint and nerve conditions.

Physiotherapists use a wide range of techniques such as manual therapy and exercise prescription to maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease.

We can offer expertise in upper limb and hand rehabilitation, pain management programmes and post-surgical recovery. Many of our therapists are also trained in Pilates, Acupuncture and Joint Manipulation, carrying out thorough biomechanical assessments to enhance and optimize function.

We have strong links with many orthopaedic consultants in Yorkshire and have an excellent track record in the rehabilitation of upper and lower limb sports injuries. In addition we can offer pre and post natal treatment and advice as well as vertigo and balance rehabilitation with our vestibular specialist.

Appointment prices:

  • Initial Assessment: £65 non-member / £52 member (45 minutes)
  • Follow up sessions: £40 non-member / £32 member (30 minutes)

Tom Marshall Physiotherapist About

Tom Marshall

How can I help you improve your health?

Tom completed his physiotherapy training at the University of Teesside in 2007. Since qualifying he has gained valuable experience working in orthopaedics, paediatrics, private health care and professional rugby league with Dewsbury Rams and Halifax RLFC.

Tom has experience treating a variety of musculoskeletal (MSK) problems from acute injuries to chronic, persistent problems including back pain, neck pain, sporting injuries and work related injuries.

He has also spent time working in orthopaedic rehab, both inpatient and outpatient, developing a keen interest in the recovery of patients who have undergone knee or shoulder surgery and helping them through their recovery.

Tom enjoys helping patients understand the nature of their injury or problem and then developing an appropriate and effective treatment plan to assist them in returning to full function. This may include a combination of manual therapy, soft tissue treatment and exercise, but the patient’s aims will always be at the heart of what drives the sessions, whether this be getting back on the pitch or spending a few hours in garden.

Tom’s clinical interests include sports/overuse injuries, rehab (MSK and Orthopaedic) and persistent pain. Outside of work Tom has recently developed an interest in triathlons and is a keen cricketer and rugby fan.
