Every course of treatment starts with a 45-minute initial assessment to assess your symptoms, then recommend the right plan for you and begin treatment. Follow-up appointments are 30 minutes. Your physiotherapist will advise how many appointments you will need but you can stop treatment at any time. *Treatment price does not include specialist pelvic health physiotherapy appointments.

At Brentwood we have a very experienced team of physiotherapists who can assist with any pain/injuries you may be suffering from; specialist interests within the team means that you will be able to speak with someone who fully understands your condition.

We are based within the hospital so we have strong relationships with the consultants working here, who also cover the Romford, Basildon, Chelmsford, Thurrock areas.

We have specialist therapists working in Hand Therapy and Women’s/Men’s Health so we can provide this additional service; alongside physiotherapists with extensive experience in Breast Cancer and Breast Reconstructive surgery.

We are able to offer services to both adults and children from the age of 6 with musculoskeletal problems. We do have a physiotherapist with a specialist interest in Paediatrics.

With a background in Sport Science and Strength & Conditioning, Alex qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2018, quickly establishing and focussing himself within a musculoskeletal speciality. He has immersed himself across different environments including the NHS, private sector and elite sport, contributing to a range of experiences with different exposures and patient populations.

Alongside being a Senior Physiotherapist at Nuffield Health, Alex currently works part-time within the academy at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club where he has developed his medical knowledge in an acute sports setting / paediatrics. He continues his professional development with additional extra-curricular courses in and around subject areas including Osteopathic techniques, Massage and Nutrition.

Alina has a great passion for physical rehabilitation, she graduated first of her class in 2015 and since then, she has been expending her knowledge, to be able to provide the best up-to-date care for her patients. She is a naturally optimistic person with a positive outlook on life and she likes to bring the same kind of attitude into her work. 
Alina qualified as a physiotherapist 2015 and has over 7 years of working in the UK with a wide range of population – from medical-legal to private, self-funded and NHS patients, dealing with acute and chronic MSK disorders (various sports injuries, spine related conditions, chronic presentations) and pre/post-surgery recovery. Most recently she has taken a particular interest in the management and prevention of tendon related injuries of the upper and lower limb. 
She strongly believes that one of the most important parts of rehabilitation is educating the patients, as this will empower them to make better decision and have a more active role and involvement in the management of their condition.

Since qualifying in 2003, Linda Griffin has worked within the NHS, initially as a junior rotational post. This enabled her to consolidate her knowledge and then develop a breath of experience treating both acute and chronic conditions. It was during this period Linda had the opportunity to rotate into women’s health.

Having worked as a night sister on a busy gynaecology/surgical ward since 1994, it was a great opportunity for Linda to combine experience gained from both of her professions. It has and always will be an area she has a special interest and passion for.

Currently Linda works as the clinical lead therapist in women’s health Physiotherapy department in Southend Hospital, she has been in post there since 2005.

Linda has completed her ACPWH Ano-retcal and vaginal assessment and management course. Completion of a Manual pelvic floor therapy course has provided her with an array of treatment options for those with chronic pelvic/vulvar pain. She has also completed matwork 1+2 APPI course and uses this regularly within her practice.

Linda joined Nuffield Health in 2011 and has been given the opportunity to develop this service, which now offers assessment and management of bladder and bowel dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic pain to men and women. She also offers ante and post natal care.

Pat Hounsell is the Hand Therapist based at the Nuffield Brentwood Hospital. Pat has over 22 years of experience assessing and treating both Orthopaedic and Rheumatology patients with any hand related conditions.

Pat treats Orthopaedic patients post trauma – (wrist, finger, thumb and hand fractures, joint dislocations, tendon injuries, soft tissue injuries and nerve palsies). Patients who have undergone elective surgery (Orthopaedic and Plastics) – nerve decompressions, all types of Dupuytren’s release, thumb arthritis surgery, all joint replacements/fusions and trigger finger.

Pat will also assess and treat Rheumatology patients with all types of arthritis that result in stiffness, poor and painful range, weakness and reduced function.

Pat can offer bespoke splinting for any condition, wound and scar management post-surgery/injury, exercises to increase range, strength and function, swelling management, desensitisation, education, joint protection and use of wax for treatment for pain and stiffness.

Kayleigh is a US trained physiotherapist who graduated with her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy in 2015. Following graduation, Kayleigh worked in a variety of settings across America, quickly focusing in the musculoskeletal and orthopaedic fields with a focus in sports medicine and post-operative rehabilitation. She is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Clinical Pilates instructor and uses these techniques within her treatment plans to help her patients get stronger and more confident. She aims to empower her patients with the knowledge and motivation needed to achieve their goals.
Since moving to the UK 5 years ago, Kayleigh has worked at our London City Fitness and Wellbeing gym and across a couple of our corporate sites before joining the team at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital. She also completed her training during this time to become a Pelvic (Women’s) Health Specialist and now treats conditions such as stress and urge incontinence, pelvic organ prolapsed, problems related to childbirth, and rehabilitation following gynaecological surgery.

Since qualifying in 2008, Kylie has gained a wealth of experience working across various specialities in the NHS.  Completing Junior rotations in elective and trauma orthopaedics, medical, care of the elderly and neurological rehabilitation, Kylie developed her core assessment and treatment skills. After a further 2 and half years she specialised in Orthopaedics, Kylie furthered her development by rotating as a senior Physiotherapist through a number of specialities including respiratory, intensive care and A & E before becoming the Orthopaedic Team Lead at Broomfield Hospital.

With a passion for post-operative care, Kylie helped to set up the service at the Elective Orthopaedic Centre in Braintree Hospital, as well as the leading the elective and trauma care at Broomfield. Always striving to improve her knowledge, Kylie has completed a number of courses to enhance her clinical skills, including Major Trauma Workshops, Fractured Neck of Femur Conferences and Elective Orthopaedic Techniques.  Working closely with the team of Consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team she strives to ensure patients achieve the best possible post-operative outcomes to maximise their quality of life.

Becky has worked within the fitness industry for 5 years, where she has gained a lot of knowledge and experience working with members to stay fit and healthy. She wanted to further her career and joined the hospital as a physiotherapy assistant in October 2022, where she assists patients prior to and following their surgery.
