Amy Kirkbride
How can I help you improve your health?
I gained a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2008 from St Martins College in Cumbria. After graduating I worked in both private practice, the NHS and part time sport. Here I gained valuable experience in all areas of physiotherapy before deciding to transition into full time sport.
Over the years I have worked with multiple sports teams and had Lead Physiotherapist roles at both Bradford Bulls RLFC and Yorkshire Carnegie RUFC. In addition to this I have also worked at Loughborough University Performance Sport department, where I provided physiotherapy for Loughborough Lightning Super League netball team, and Loughborough Lightning KSL T20 cricket team.
Clinically I enjoy combining hands on therapy, where indicated, with tailored exercise programmes to help people achieve their goals and optimise function. I am keen to help patients understand the nature of their injury and develop strategies to promote recovery. I am trained in acupuncture and also have a special interest in injury prevention, sports injuries and return to play rehabilitation.
