Dr Goonetilleke has been a consultant General Paediatrician since 2009 and has a special interest in Paediatric Endocrinology.
After completing his registrar training at The John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford he has worked primarily as a consultant at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and also holds an Honorary contract at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.
He has a special interest in Paediatric endocrinology, particularly growth problems, short stature, pubertal problems including early and late puberty and also thyroid problems and problems with weight and obesity.
Dr Goonetilleke also sees children with most general problems including but not limited to: abdominal pain, constipation, cough, asthma and urinary tract infections.
As an examiner and tutor for the Royal College
of Paediatrics and Child Health, Dr Goonetilleke is responsible for ensuring
the next generation of paediatricians are competent. He has numerous
publications in international paediatric journals and has held courses to
further the education of GPs.
