That’s why we're proud to offer Pathology Direct – a quick and easy self-pay service available at 30 Nuffield Health hospitals across the country. Whether you have a referral or not, we can provide the blood tests you need to help diagnose your health concerns.

How it works

Pay for your test online

Simply pick the test you need and pay for it online. Choose a preferred appointment time and Nuffield Health Hospital location best for you. We then send an automatic e-mail acknowledgement and receipt. 

We'll call you within 24 hours

Appointments can be available within 3 days from ordering on line Monday to Friday, and can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance. Please allow time to confirm your request when ordering at weekends and bank holidays.

Attend your appointment

Appointments usually last 15 minutes and will be carried out by an experienced Phlebotomist (a specialist in taking blood samples). A sample of your blood will be taken and sent to one of our laboratories for analysis.

Get results by post or email

Most test results are available within a week, some sooner and some considerably longer. See test information for more details. Your results will be sent by 1st class post to you and your referrer. We can securely e-mail you the results if you prefer. 

You will need a referral from a healthcare professional to use this service and we will need evidence of that referral. If you don't have a referral, don't worry, we can provide you one for an additional £25 charge for our GPs to support your request subject to their approval.

Pathology Direct is a self-pay service and you won't be able to use insurance/health plans to order or pay for tests. We can issue credit/debit card receipts but itemised invoices can't be provided.
