FAQs
-
Do I need to be registered with an NHS GP or pre-register with Nuffield Health? No. We welcome all patients, whether for a single appointment or for ongoing care. You do not need to pre-register with us or be registered with an NHS GP to book an appointment with one of our Private GP clinics.
-
Will seeing a private GP affect seeing my NHS GP?No. Seeing a private GP does not affect your registration with your NHS GP, and it won’t stop you from using NHS services.
-
Will you contact my NHS GP?We will only contact your NHS GP with your consent.
-
How long is a standard private GP appointment? Our standard appointments are 20 minutes, but some of our private GP clinics may offer longer appointments. This gives you the time to discuss your health concerns in detail.
-
Do you see children? Some of our private GP treat infants and children, as well as adults. To check whether your local private GP sees children (and from what age), please search for your nearest clinic.
-
Do I need health insurance to see a private GP?Most private health insurance policies do not cover GP consultations. Our service is designed to be self-funding. However, if your GP refers you for diagnostic tests and scans or to a specialist, your insurance may cover that part of your care. Please check with your provider.
