How do I get an appointment to see a consultant? While a GP referral is preferred, it isn't always necessary to book an appointment. Please be aware that as this is at the consultant's discretion, there are situations where a GP referral is required. You can book an appointment by calling our enquiries team on 0300 131 1423 (option 1) or most of our consultants are now bookable online.
How long would it take me to get an appointment? We endeavour to ensure all private patients will be seen within a few days and at a time that is convenient for you. Our appointments are designed to be flexible around your needs and activities.

Post operatively, if a consultant decided they needed to see a patient urgently this would be co-ordinated by our out of hours team. The hospital is open 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year for our patients’ convenience.
Can I choose which consultant I wish to see?Yes, as a private patient and NHS patient you can choose your consultant.

What are your hospital infection rates?Nuffield Health Tees Hospital is vigorous in its cleaning standards and keeping our hospitals clean and free of MRSA and C.difficule is a top priority. As a result, the risk of infection to patients is very low.
When can my family visit if I’m an inpatient? Our visiting hours are between 3-4pm and 6-8pm. We are keeping our hospital safe, therefore we restrict the number of visitors to 2 per patient during these times.
Can my family/friends wait while I have my procedure?Unfortunately, they cannot but they are welcome to visit during the times specified. We ask that you are dropped off and picked up before/after your procedure. Due to limited car parking spaces, we ask that your friends/family do not wait in their car in the car park while you have your procedure.
