Types of treatment or procedure:
Circumcision
A circumcision is a surgical operation to remove all, or part of, your foreskin. This procedure is available to adult patients and children aged 3+ for medical purposes only.
Epididymal surgery
Your epididymis is a tube just above your testicles that stores sperm. Sometimes fluid builds up in this area, causing an epidigymal cyst. This is usually harmless but in some cases will need to be removed.
Gynaecomastia surgery (male breast reduction)
Gynaecomastia surgery is a cosmetic treatment conducted by Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital's specialist consultants to remove excess breast tissue in men.
Orchidectomy
An orchidectomy is a surgical procedure to remove one or both testicles (bilateral orchidectomy).
Prostate resection (TURP)
A prostate resection involves removing prostate tissue to relieve the pressure on your urethra.
Prostate surgery
Prostate surgery involves reducing the size of the prostate gland.
Radical prostatectomy
A radical prostatectomy is the removal of the entire prostate gland, sometimes with the nearby lymphatic glands.
Vasectomy or male sterilisation
A vasectomy is a surgical procedure to stop the transfer of sperm during ejaculation. It is a simple, reliable method of contraception. In some cases it is reversible, but you should really think of it as a permanent option.
