What is Shiatsu therapy?

Shiatsu is an alternative therapy with origins in Japanese and Chinese medicine. It's considered a holistic treatment, using physical techniques that benefit the mind and body.

Shiatsu (also known as acupressure) uses touch, pressure and manipulative techniques to balance the body by concentrating on energy pathways. Many patients find it a deeply relaxing experience and regular treatments can reduce stress and illness and maintain health and well-being.

Shiatsu therapy is available to our gym members and non-members.

Conditions that Shiatsu can help treat:

  • Headaches
  • PMS
  • Digestive disorders
  • Fatigue
  • Insomnia
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Musculoskeletal pain e.g. back pain, neck pain
  • Joint pain
