COVID-19 (Coronavirus) – Looking after your health and wellbeing In these unprecedented times, it’s more important than ever to look after your health and wellbeing. In line with guidance from the government and Public Health England, we’ve had to change the way we deliver our services for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of our services may have limited availability, or offer virtual as well as face-to-face services.

Please see below the changes to some of our employee benefits during this period:

  • A virtual physiotherapy service is available alongside our traditional face-to-face service. You can access our new virtual service in the same way as our standard physiotherapy – by calling 0345 045 4845 if you’re not a member of the Healthcare Scheme (or Bupa on 0800 0287687 if you are a member)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy sessions will now also be available online. You can call the Emotional Wellbeing Team on 0333 123 4106 if you’re not a member of the Healthcare Scheme (or Bupa on 0800 0287687 if you are a member) for more information and to book a session. Any employee experiencing distress due to the mental health impact of COVID-19 can access an initial emotional wellbeing telephone assessment and then psychological treatment by phone or online, free of charge (up to a value of £1000 – self-pay available after that). This support is irrespective of Nuffield Health Healthcare Scheme cover and does not require payment of an excess
  • Season Ticket Loans – if you’re not going to use your season ticket or Travelcard for some time, you can apply for a refund online through our partner, Abellio Corporate Travel
  • Gym memberships – as our fitness and wellbeing clubs start to reopen, new gym membership requests are now being processed. Due to the gym closures during lockdown, the memberships team are receiving a very high volume of gym requests and as such memberships are likely to take longer than the usual 3 weeks to process. You will receive a confirmation email when your membership cards are ready to collect. Please don’t attend the gym until you have received this confirmation email.
  • If you still need to travel to work, and would like to avoid public transport, you may want to have a look at the Cycle to Work Scheme for a tax-efficient way of purchasing a new bike and/or accessories. If you’re currently participating in the Cycle to Work Scheme, you have the option to extend your hire agreement and freeze your repayments for up to three months. This would also apply an extension to the date your ownership fee is due. If you would like to extend your hire agreement, email mybenefits@nuffieldhealth.com
  • Eyecare vouchers – Specsavers are now open for eye test bookings. If you would like to request an eyecare voucher, please email mybenefits@nuffieldhealth.com with your full name, employee number, email address, and your line manager’s approval via email. Hospital-based colleagues can request their vouchers locally – speak to your line manager in first instance
  • You can now access the Nuffield Health GP-led telephone service. All you need to do is call 0300 123 1902 and provide your employee number. The GP-led telephone service is there to support you with any immediate medical concerns you may have, including health advice for self-isolating. It also can be used for more routine GP matters – such as provision of prescriptions or referrals where clinically appropriate. Please note that if you’ve worked at Nuffield Health for less than six months you can still book, but the booking agent may need to call you back within two working days to ensure you are correctly loaded in our booking system
  • The Childcare Voucher Scheme is now closed to new entrants, but if you are already in the scheme, we would like to remind you that you have the option to reduce your vouchers or stop them completely (provided that you reactivate them within 12 months, if you wish to remain in the scheme after this time). You can do this online by logging into your Sodexo account
  • Our Employee Assistance Programme now features additional resources relating to COVID-19, which you can find online at www.workplaceoptions.co.uk (username: Nuffield Health, password: employee)
  • The Offers & Discounts platform homepage has been updated with the top trending brands and products, prioritising the best discounts available, highlighting exclusive offers for frontline workers, and added services (such as next day/fast delivery, those available online vs in-store etc) to help you save time and money
  • We're providing you access to our new online self-help tool – SilverCloud, an independent online platform offering a number of self-help programmes. It can give you skills and techniques to help you to maintain a healthy lifestyle and support you to be at your best both physically and mentally during this difficult time. This includes a COVID-19 specific programme.
