Why choose Nuffield Health Oxford, The Manor Hospital for your cancer treatment?

Here at the Manor Hospital, we are able to deliver comprehensive private cancer services across the region and specialise in the following cancers:

We are located close to the NHS Churchill Hospital, a centre of excellence for cancer services, and as a result, we have a team of eminent oncologists, physicians, surgeons and expert nurses all providing excellent private cancer care.

We understand cancer can be a time of uncertainty; access to the most appropriate treatment, up-to-date knowledge and clinical expertise is crucial to you and your support network. To ensure your care meets these needs, your Consultant will supervise your journey, working closely with the Specialist Oncology Nursing team throughout. Your Consultant will discuss the most effective and appropriate treatment with you following your cancer diagnosis, liaising with the highly trained nurses to deliver up-to-date, bespoke treatments in a time-sensitive manner and in comfortable surroundings.

Your treatment pathway may include one or more of the following:

  • Surgery
  • Chemotherapy
  • Hormone therapy
  • Biological/targeted therapy
  • Immunotherapy
  • Supportive therapies e.g. blood transfusions, iron infusions

After your initial consultation, the Specialist Oncology Nurses will arrange a pre-chemotherapy assessment, where we will explain your treatment in detail and decide upon convenient dates to commence therapies. This is an opportunity to view our facilities and ask any questions.

Your hospital experience

If you require treatment such as chemotherapy (or Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy - SACT), you will be in a comfortable environment with knowledgeable, experienced specialist oncology nurses who are committed to providing holistic, up-to-date and informed cancer treatment.

We work closely with Maggie’s, who are a vital part of the cancer journey support network, as we recognise that cancer is not just about treatments and hospital appointments.

We are proud to maintain a clean, open environment, fully aware of how infections and being immunocompromised is at the forefront of our patients’ minds.

We are conveniently located in the centre of Headington, close to local shops and not far from the ring road with excellent transport links. The hospital provides free on-site parking, meaning that arriving for your appointment with us should be straightforward and without stress.

24-hour contact service

We provide a consultant-led service, meaning that your medical practitioner will be fully involved in all medical decisions regarding your treatments. Our nursing team are all members of UKONS and are Macmillan Trained Cancer Practitioners and deliver excellent clinical practice as well as being up to date with their knowledge and expertise. We provide over-the-phone support between treatments and out-of-hours work closely with Oxford University Hospital Trust if emergency medical treatment or review is required.

Our holistic approach to cancer care

Whatever your stage of treatment, we are a small, dedicated team of 9 who are here to support you.

You'll get to know the team and we will get to know you and your support network, meaning you won't have to keep explaining things to new people and ensuring continuity of care.

We have a world-class team of experts including oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, specialist oncology nurses, clinical nurse specialists and a Maggie’s Cancer Support Specialist, all committed to ensuring you receive the best care available.
