Roger Pattison qualified in 1989 from St Thomas’ Hospital in London. He joined the South East Thames Orthopaedic Training Scheme in 1994. The final year of training was spent in Toronto studying hip and knee replacement surgery.
Mr Pattison joined Brighton Healthcare as a consultant in 2000. Since 2009 his practice has been entirely in hip and knee replacement and revision surgery. He has run research projects in the past and he contributes to local and national audit programs.
Modern hip and knee replacement surgery is routine, reliable and safe. This is the era of small incision surgery, rapid post-operative mobilisation and early discharge home. The risk of complications is low but they can be managed safely and successfully if they occur.
