FACE TO FACE - Join Mr Arman Memarzadeh and Mr Mike Barrett for 2 Examination Refresher Sessions at the hospital.

Mr Arman Memarzadeh is a consultant in trauma and orthopaedics at Cambridge University Hospitals. Having completed his higher surgical training on the Cambridge rotation, he completed further fellowship training at the Fortius clinic in London, Oxford University Hospitals, and Leeds Teaching Hospitals. During this time, he was trained in the management of sports injuries in elite athletes, cartilage regenerative procedures, kinematic alignment knee replacement, partial knee replacement as well as revision (re-do) surgery in cases of failed operations. He was also awarded a travelling fellowship funded by the British Orthopaedic Association to visit medical centres in Chicago and Philadelphia (Rothman Institute). His clinical specialist interest is in knee surgery, sports and arthroplasty. He is passionate about the role of personalised knee surgery in improving the outcomes of operations for patients. Arman has been awarded a number of prizes, including the Trinity Cup for the most accomplished trainee, Cambridge Trainee of the Year and a research grant from Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust. This grant is being used to investigate the effect of pre-operative muscle strength on the outcomes of hip arthroscopy.

Mr Mike Barrett is an expert orthopaedic and trauma surgeon who specialises in treating foot and ankle conditions including trauma, and sports injuries. Vastly experienced, he is an excellent teacher and published author in his field. He is a consultant at Cambridge University Hospital, where he treats the most severely injured patients and challenging foot and ankle conditions. He teaches junior surgeons on a daily basis and is co-founder of the international digital education platform orthohub.xyz.

Mr Barrett was awarded the Trainee of the Year, Trinity Cup (best in class), and the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle society gold fellowship awards. He has completed fellowships in foot and ankle at the University Hospitals Dorset, and major trauma & limb reconstruction at the Royal London Hospital.

Mr Barrett has written book chapters on foot and ankle surgery for a Bailey and Love series, and authored several peer-review publications.
