About
Mr Arman Memarzadeh is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Cambridge University Hospitals, specialising exclusively in knee surgery, with a particular focus on knee preservation and advanced cartilage repair and regeneration.
He trained on the prestigious Cambridge rotation before undertaking fellowship training at leading centres including the Fortius Clinic, Oxford University Hospitals, and Leeds Teaching Hospitals. This training provided extensive experience in the treatment of elite athletes, complex ligament injuries, and the full spectrum of cartilage restoration procedures.
Awarded the British Orthopaedic Association Travelling Fellowship, he visited world-leading centres in the United States, including the Rothman Institute, refining his expertise in joint preservation and complex knee reconstruction.
Mr Memarzadeh’s practice is centred on preserving the native knee joint wherever possible. He specialises in cutting-edge cartilage repair and regenerative techniques, alongside ligament reconstruction and precision, robotic knee replacement, offering patients highly individualised treatment strategies designed to restore function, prolong joint longevity, and optimise long-term outcomes.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Memarzadeh is a dedicated educator and mentor. He has a strong interest in training the next generation of surgeons in complex knee surgery, particularly cartilage restoration and advanced reconstructive techniques. He is faculty on national and international courses and holds a formal teaching qualification from the University of Cambridge.
He has received multiple awards recognising excellence in clinical practice, research, and education, including the Trinity Cup, Cambridge Trainee of the Year, and research funding from Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust.
