Dr Glancy was born in London and trained in Medicine at the University of Manchester, qualifying in 1983. Following a 5-year short career commission in the Royal Navy Dr Glancy trained in Cardiology in Leicester and thereafter Cardiology Research with a British Heart Foundation Grant, gaining an MD in 1996. He was appointed the same year as Consultant in Hereford, and elected FRCP (London) in 2000.
Dr Glancy is a specialist in Cardiology and Cardiovascular Medicine, including investigation and treatment of arrhythmia and conduction abnormalities, cardiomyopathies, corony disease, heart failure, hypertension and valve disease. He has a wide interest in Cardiology but with a specific interest in running and developing the permanent pacemaker service which has been established in Hereford for many years. He also has long experience in diagnostic coronary angiography. He is clinical lead of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Cardiac Network.
Dr Glancy is married with two children and when he has time he plays golf and likes gardening (unfortunately - in his own words - "mainly weeding").
