How much does a private GP appointment cost?
Standard private GP appointments last 30 minutes and cost £90. If you need a longer appointment, please call 0300 790 6190 to arrange this.
We see patients aged 18 years and over. You do not need to be registered with our practice or live locally to attend. We currently offer face-to-face appointments only.

Do I need to pre-register or live locally?No. We welcome all patients, whether for a single appointment or for ongoing care. You do not need to pre-register with us or live locally.

Do I need to be registered with an NHS GP?No, you do not need to be registered with an NHS GP to book an appointment with one of our Private GPs.

Will seeing a private GP affect seeing an NHS GP?No. Seeing a private GP does not affect your registration with your NHS GP, and it won’t stop you from using NHS services.

Will you contact my NHS GP?We will only contact your NHS GP with your consent.

How long is a standard appointment?Our standard appointments are 30 minutes, which is longer than a routine NHS appointment. This gives you the time to discuss your health concerns in detail. Please call 0300 790 6190 if you need a longer appointment.

What should I bring to my private GP appointment?To make the most of your appointment, please bring:
- Photo ID (for example, a passport or driving licence).
- A list of medicines you’re currently taking, including doses (and any supplements or over‑the‑counter remedies).
- Any relevant medical information, such as previous test results, clinic/hospital letters and scan reports (if applicable).

Can you issue prescriptions?Yes. Our GP can issue private prescriptions, which you can take to any pharmacy. For your convenience, we also have an on-site pharmacy at Derby Hospital where you can get your medication immediately.

Do you see children?No, we only see patients aged 18 years and over.

What about health insurance?Most private health insurance policies do not cover GP consultations. Our service is designed to be self-funding. However, if your GP refers you for diagnostic tests or to a specialist, your insurance may cover that part of your care. Please check with your provider.

Is there parking available?Patients and visitors can park for free, but spaces are limited. We recommend allowing extra time prior to arrival to secure a space and avoid delays. We have an ANPR system in place, so all patients and visitors must register their vehicle to ensure free on-site parking.

I am disabled/require assistance during my visit, who do I need to tell?Please let our staff know your requirements when booking your appointment. We are happy to make suitable arrangements before your visit. If you’d like to bring a friend or family member, please feel free to do so.
Our GP clinic is fully accessible, with step-free access and lifts where needed.
