If you have a busy schedule, a private GP is the perfect way to make sure your health doesn’t get sidelined.

• Initial appointments (30 minutes) at £130
• Follow-up appointments at a cost of £70 for 15 minutes and £130 for 30 minutes.
• Same-day appointments may be available - please call us on 0116 276 9401. 
• Available to anybody of any age.
• No need to be registered with an NHS GP.

Our doctors are experienced in all aspects of medicine and have a variety of special interests to cater for most medical needs. The service is run by local GPs, who have many years of experience.

Our services

Our GP services include:

• On-site pharmacy.
• On-site pathology.
• Diagnostic imaging referrals (including ultrasound, mammograms, CT and MRI scanning booking is dependent on availability, often on the same day).
• Electrocardiograms (ECGs).
• Private prescriptions.
• Referrals to private consultants and specialists.
• Issue of Sick certificates.
• Physiotherapy/Rehabilitation referrals.
• General lifestyle advice (including weight management, smoking cessation and cholesterol levels).
• Prostate screening.
• Cervical Smear tests.
• HGV and taxi medicals.
• Sports medicine certificates.

One of the advantages of using our private GP service here at Nuffield Health Leicester is that we can arrange for same-day investigations, such as blood tests, x-rays and scans, to be done at the time of your GP consultation or the following day.

We can also ensure rapid referral to any one of the wide range of specialists who consult at the hospital if needed.

Services we do not provide:

• Emergency or out-of-hours care – please call the NHS 111 or 999.
• Minor surgery.
• Contraceptive coils and implant service.
• Medical certification for scuba diving and aviation, 24-hour health cover, or emergency service.
• Repeat prescriptions, except where we have initiated treatment, or (exceptionally) in an emergency.
• Ongoing monitoring of long-term conditions, where the NHS might be a more appropriate provider of this chronic disease management service.
• To be treated for a reaction to any prescribed medication (this would be deemed an emergency).
• To routinely use the service for ‘sick’ notes for conditions that a Nuffield Health GP is not treating.

How much does it cost to have a private GP appointment at Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital?

• An initial consultation - £130 for 30 minutes.
• Follow-up appointments: £70 for 15 minutes / £130 for 30 minutes.

Appointments will be payable on the day of your appointment. We will also need to take card details - more information can be found here.

For medical assessments (other than HGV and Taxi), please contact us for further details.

An additional fee may be incurred for extra services such as pathology, imaging and pharmacy prescriptions. These are payable to Nuffield Health in most cases.

If you cancel or do not attend with less than 24 hours’ notice, the full fee will apply, and your card will be charged in advance of the appointment.
