Corporate Hospitality

All consultants are invited to attend an annual general meeting (AGM) at the Nuffield Health hospital at which they practise. The AGM is generally hosted offsite, with food and drink provided.

Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) Chairs from all Nuffield Health hospitals are invited to attend an annual conference in London, joining the Nuffield Health senior leadership team in reviewing Nuffield Health hospitals’ performance over the past year, sharing best practice and discussing objectives for the year to come. In recognition of their voluntary service to Nuffield Health as MAC Chairs, attendees are invited to attend a dinner and provided overnight accommodation following the conference. The cost of the hospitality provided at the last such conference in December 2018 was £500.00 per consultant.  The dinner is attended by MAC chairs, Hospital Directors, Nuffield Health Operating Board members and central senior leadership teams.

National Expert Advisory Group (EAG)

The EAG (established in January 2016) supports the development of Nuffield Health’s strategy and policies, providing, on an ad hoc basis, advice on clinical best practice, new technology and procedures, complaints, peer review and also giving speciality-specific expert advice where needed. Advice requests are coordinated by a central team to ensure the appropriate and fair rotation throughout the membership of the EAG.

The EAG is constituted from members of Nuffield Health Hospitals’ Medical Societies nominated by peers and hospital management. Members are invited to join the EAG by our Medical Director, Mahmood Shaffi.

Where advisory services are requested from and provided to Nuffield Health by EAG consultant members, they are paid a day rate of £1,000 or an hourly rate of £150 plus reasonable expenses incurred. All such payments are disclosed on both the relevant hospitals CMA declaration (including cumulative payments to date in this calendar year) and on the relevant individual’s profile on the Nuffield Health website.
