About
Mr Willem Schenk qualified from Erasmus University Medical School in Rotterdam in 1986 and completed his orthopaedic training in Antwerp Belgium in 1996, with part of his training completed in Melbourne and Adelaide, Australia. After working in the University Hospital in Groningen, The Netherlands, Mr Schenk started at the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds in 2001, where he continues to practise.
Mr Schenk has always had a special interest in all aspects of knee surgery, ligament, meniscus and cartilage reconstructions, as well as partial and total knee reconstructions. Mr Schenk has vast experience in Oxford unicompartmental knee replacements and has found this type of knee implants very rewarding, allowing patients to quickly recover, with much less risks and typically a better outcome than total knee replacements.
Mr Schenk gives a balanced opinion on orthopaedic issues and has presented and published nationally and internationally.
