About

I trained in London, Basingstoke, and Oxford, and began working in Devon in 2006.

Most of my work focuses on treating bowel conditions (particularly colorectal disease), managing complications from previous surgery, and carrying out reconstructive procedures after problems within the abdomen. I also treat patients with recurrent or more advanced bowel cancer.

Alongside my clinical work, I am involved in research and co-lead the Exeter Surgical Health Services Research Unit. Through my research and by delivering hands-on surgical training workshops, I have developed a national and international reputation in abdominal wall reconstructive surgery.

I lead a multidisciplinary team that specialises in complex cases. The work we do contributes to international research databases and is widely published.

Other interests

  • Locally advanced bowel cancer
  • Complex abdominal wall hernia
  • Problem stomas
  • Recurrent rectal cancer
