About
Mr Shalaby has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Surgeon since 2009.
Mr Shalaby provides modern, evidence-based care using the latest techniques in foot and ankle surgery. His practice includes total ankle replacement surgery (primary and revision procedures), minimally invasive (keyhole) foot and ankle surgery, and reconstructive procedures for cartilage defects of the ankle. He also specialises in ankle ligament reconstruction, sports injury treatment, and advanced therapies designed to restore mobility and reduce pain.
Recognised as a national expert, Mr Shalaby specialises in the correction of complex foot and ankle deformities. He regularly receives tertiary referrals from across Scotland for patients requiring highly specialised assessment, diagnosis, and surgical treatment at a consultant-led orthopaedic clinic.

Education
He completed his orthopaedic training in Cairo and Edinburgh, followed by advanced fellowships in foot and ankle surgery in Liverpool and Nottingham. His extensive training covers the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of a wide range of foot and ankle conditions.
Teaching and research
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Shalaby is actively
involved in research, education, and training. He serves as a clinical
supervisor for orthopaedic trainees in South-East Scotland and contributes
to the advancement of orthopaedic knowledge as a reviewer for several leading
international orthopaedic journals.
