About
Dr Sivasuriam obtained her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine in Colombo, Sri Lanka, which is the most prestigious medical school in the Island nation. Having completed specialist training and having obtained her postgraduate qualification(Master of Surgery) from her home country she was appointed senior lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the same medical faculty.
She moved to the UK where she completed her consultant training in the Oxford and Welsh deaneries. Soon after completing her training in the UK(2008) she was appointed consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Cwm Taf University Health Board where she currently serves as a senior consultant.
During her training, she achieved academic qualifications from several prestigious Royal colleges in the UK.
Dr Sivasuriam undertakes complex gynaecological surgeries and is the lead Gynaecologist for cancer at Prince Charles Hospital Merthyr Tydfil. She is also the lead for Colposcopy and hysteroscopy services at the same hospital. Dr Sivasuriam is an experienced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeon. She has been training registrars in these areas since 2010.
Dr Sivasuriam is an experienced gynaecologist who delivers patient-centred individualised care.
She has served as a Royal College tutor for trainees and also as Clinical director.

Research
Dr Sivasuriam is actively involved in research and training, with several publications to her name. She passionately believes in the management of menstrual disorders in a one stop clinic where women are assessed, scanned and treated in the same sitting. Her current research project is a reflection of the above.
