Nuffield Health running three cohorts of the award-winning Preceptorship Programme

This International Nurse’s Day we are celebrating the development of nurses across the UK through our award-winning Preceptorship Programme.

Last year, 58 of our nurses who came through our International Recruitment Programme successfully completed the Preceptorship Programme. Due to the course’s popularity, we have made the decision to run three cohorts this year to allow as many nurses as we can to benefit from the skills and knowledge the programme provides.

We recently reformed our programme following a quality assurance review and benchmarking against national standards and best practice. This culminated in the programme achieving a Royal College of Nursing (RCN) accreditation and a Preceptorship Quality mark from Health Education England (HEE).

Our Preceptorship Programme is a 12-month learning journey designed to support newly qualified or newly registered nurses, nursing associates and allied health professionals (AHPs) confidently settle into their careers and a thrive within clinical practice at Nuffield Health.

In 2021, the programme successfully retained its title as Preceptorship of the Year (>1500 Nurses) at the Nursing Times Workforce Awards and was recognised for going above and beyond to recruit and retain our nursing workforce. The Programme has also been rated as ‘highly valuable’ by preceptees who have now gone on to demonstrate an increase in general self-efficacy, professional commitment and job satisfaction.

Our Head of Clinical Quality and Professional Practice, Ben Davis, said: “We’re excited to be supporting even more our nurses this year by running three cohorts of our award-winning, accredited Preceptorship Programme. By providing our nurses the skills and knowledge to work with confidence we are committing to their development and we’re proud to be supporting their development.”
