Cardiology and Cardiac Diagnostics:

If you have presented symptoms such as chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, irregular pulse, heart murmur or family history of cardiac disease, your consultant may recommend you have further investigations via a cardiac diagnostic test. We can offer:

  • Electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • ECG Holter monitor
  • Ambulatory blood pressure monitor
  • Exercise Tolerance Test
  • Echocardiogram
  • Stress Echocardiogram
  • Coronary angiogram

How would I be referred for one of these cardiac diagnostic tests

  1. You would first visit your GP and they will refer if required
  2. Appointment with Consultant Cardiologist to discuss history and symptoms
  3. Depending on symptoms presented, suitable cardiac diagnostic tests will be carried out
  4. Follow up appointment for results
  5. Further diagnostic testing will be carried out if required

What would the next step of the patient journey be following these tests?

Results from your diagnostic tests will usually be reported by a cardiac physiologist, outlining the key findings and escalating areas of concern when necessary. The final reports are sent for review by a cardiologist who may use the findings to diagnose heart disease, change or optimise medications, arrange regular routine follow up appointments to monitor disease progression.

We can offer simple diagnostic tests (such as ECG) Monday to Friday 8am – 6pm.
