Mr Akimau graduated from a prestigious medical school in Belarus, where he completed his initial medical and surgical training. He then travelled to Japan, where he earned a PhD in Medical Sciences from Osaka University Medical School, one of Japan’s most respected academic and research institutions.

He subsequently completed specialist orthopaedic training in the UK and was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2016 through the highly regarded South Yorkshire Trauma & Orthopaedics National Training Programme.
