Miss Chee-Wan Lai completed her primary medical training at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine in London in 2005. She undertook surgical training in London, South West, and Severn deaneries. She completed her higher surgical training and was awarded a certificate of completion of training in Wessex deanery.
Miss Chee-Wan Lai undertook postgraduate research training during which she conducted research projects and a randomised controlled trial. She was awarded the degree Doctor of Medicine, MD(Res) in 2015.
Miss Chee-Wan Lai undertook further sub-specialty fellowship in colorectal and pelvic floor surgery in Plymouth. She was appointed as a substantive consultant colorectal and pelvic floor surgeon in Plymouth in 2022.
