Here at Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital,  we have been forging great partnerships in the community to support healthcare as it should be. Not only is this a really exciting opportunity to support local teams with great ambition, it also enables us to support the work that these teams do with supporting local colleges and schools in coaching and fitness.

The two main partnerships will see both Plymouth Albion Rugby Club and Plymouth University Raiders Basketball Team having prompt access following injury to the top Plymouth Consultants and the high quality services that Nuffield Health can provide, to enable them to keep fit and healthy and at their best on the pitch and court.

Our Director, Patricia Warwick, believes that this is an exciting opportunity for all of the Nuffield Health Plymouth team, who are ambitious to provide an excellent service to the clubs and a chance to spread the message of 'Healthcare as it should be'.

How our private hospital makes a difference

This has been an exciting period for both the sport teams, who feel that this is a real stepping stone into helping get their players back on the pitch in tip top condition through our Recovery Plus Programme.

Graham Stirling, Chairman of Plymouth Albion, says “We’re delighted that Nuffield Health has agreed to help the Club with any injuries sustained by the players, enabling them to get back on the pitch as quickly as possible, which will be invaluable for us as we strive towards our aims for the season. We are looking forward to this being a long-term and mutually beneficial agreement between the two organisations.

Declan Cusack Fly Half for Plymouth Albion has recently been treated by Nuffield Health Hospital and commented:“From the moment I walked into the Nuffield Hospital I was put at ease. The staff were extremely helpful and professional. As you can imagine for a rugby player to have surgery is not ideal but the care shown by the people at the hospital has given me full confidence in my shoulder upon return to play. It is great to have Nuffield Health as our official health provider”
