National Joint Registry
Guildford Hospital has been awarded a Gold-level Data Quality Award by The National Joint Registry, which monitors the performance of hip, knee, ankle, elbow and shoulder joint replacement operations. The hospital met six targets during the audit period 2022/23, scoring 100% each to achieve the ‘Gold’ award.
Sara Kearney, Director of Clinical Services at Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital, says: “I’m extremely proud of the team approach to ensuring compliance with the NJR standards for data quality. The award is a well-deserved recognition for the commitment to patient safety by pre-assessment and theatre teams.”
Caroline Smith, Nuffield Health’s Chief Quality and Operations Officer, says:“This is a fantastic achievement for our teams at 34 hospitals of our hospitals in England and Wales, rewarding our hard-working clinical teams that inputted over 20,000 records for the National Joint Registry.

As well as being a fundamental driver to inform improved quality of care for patients, registry data provides an important source of evidence for regulators, such as the Care Quality Commission, to inform their judgements about the quality of health services.”

We’ve been awarded the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark at Nuffield Heath Guildford Hospital. This award was developed in collaboration with more than 400 people living with cancer, who helped to shape its criteria.
