About

Professor Kardos graduated with a distinction in 1988 from Albert Szent-Gyorgyi Medical School Szeged, Hungary. He spent two years at the Heart Centre in Bad Krozingen, Germany as a research fellow. He was later awarded with a Research Fellowship of the European Society of Cardiology followed by the Norman Collisson Fellowship as a post-doc researcher at the University Department of Cardiovascular Medicine in Oxford where he was also appointed as a University Lecturer.

After his cardiology training in Szeged and Oxford (John Radcliffe Hospital), Professor Kardos was appointed Consultant Cardiologist in 2003 at Milton Keynes University Hospital. He currently consults at MKUH as well as holding the role of clinical lead in multimodality cardiac imaging. In addition to this post he has an Honorary Consultant appointment at the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals and a title of Honorary Senior Lecturer of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. For his academic achievement he has been awarded with a personal Chair in Cardiovascular Medicine at University of Buckingham in March 2018.

He has developed several cardiac services in MKUH i.e. Stress echocardiography, Transoesophageal echocardiography, invasive coronary angiography, permanent pacemaker implantation, cardiac CT angiography. He is also the lead of the cardiovascular research portfolio in the Trust.
