About
Ms Rattigan qualified as a doctor from University College Dublin and initially pursued her interest in general surgery and qualified as a general surgeon through the Royal College of Surgery in Ireland. She then decided to focus her career in ophthalmology and moved to the United Kingdom to enable this. She trained via the Wales Rotation and became a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 1997. She sub-specialised in paediatric ophthalmology and oculomotility. Her fellowship was carried out in Great Ormond Street London and The Royal Victoria Infirmary Newcastle. She became a consultant ophthalmologist in 2002.
Ms Rattigan performs Cataract Surgery and has a regular list at the Nuffield Hospital. As well as routine cases, she specialises and operates on patients with cataracts who also have double vision, physical disabilities or dementia and offers a range of lens options including monofocal, varifocal and toric lenses. Cataract surgery is available under local anaesthetic or general anaesthetic.
She sub-specialises in oculomotility and neuro-ophthalmology and consults with patients at Musgrove Park Hospital, on a private basis, she also sees children with eye issues.
