About
Dr Krishna is a Consultant in Pain Medicine in Bristol. He has trained in anaesthesia and has successfully completed a fellowship in pain medicine in the UK.
Dr Krishna is committed to a career in pain medicine. The issues of pain assessment and management captured Dr Krishna's attention early on in his medical career, when he realised the high prevalence and constant under treatment of pain in the hospitals and the community. Though pain is considered to be the 5th vital sign, the adverse consequences of inadequately managed pain continue to be ignored by the majority of health care professionals. Dr Krishna is committed to improving the pain and suffering of patients with chronic pain.
Dr Krishna has a wide range of experience in treating patients with chronic pain. He currently treats more than 800 new patients annually and deals with a wide range of chronic pain conditions. His specialist interests include back pain, neuropathic pain and interventional pain treatments including radiofrequency and pulsed radiofrequency
Dr Krishna firmly believes in the holistic approach of pain management, one that focuses not only on pain relief but also the functional and emotional wellbeing of the patient. He is a great advocate of patient empowerment through patient education and considers clinical consultation to be a partnership based on effective communication and collaboration between the patient and the doctor.
Personal interests
Dr Krishna’s time away from work belongs to his kids and his wife. He enjoys cooking, photography, web designing and fast cars. He is also a keen traveller.
Dr Krishna is a member of Concern an international organisation involved in rehabilitation of the underprivileged in developing countries.
