The bones that make up your heel and midfoot are called tarsal bones.

The most pronounced symptom of tarsal coalition is pain in the outside of the foot and stiffness.

Treatment for tarsal coalition can include application of a brace or cast to rest the joint and reduce inflammation. When the cast is removed your consultant may recommend that you wear orthotics (shoe inserts) to keep your foot in the correct position.

In some cases your consultant may recommend surgery.

Our experienced consultants can diagnose and treat tarsal coalition in a hospital near you.
