Nuffield Health Shrewsbury is supporting local NHS patients needing urgent surgery
Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital is providing surgical support for NHS patients from Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital in Telford caring for COVID-19 patients, Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital is shielding and supporting NHS patients with urgent surgery for urological, gynaecological conditions, breast cancers and upper GI. The NHS bowel infusion service and a biopsy clinic has been hosted by Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital. Outpatient services including MRI scans, ultrasounds and x-rays are also being provided to NHS patients during the pandemic,
David Wells, Hospital Director at Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital, said: “We are pleased to be working with the NHS to support patients and to help reduce the time people in our local community have to wait for care.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has stretched our country, but the effort, dedication and commitment of the Nuffield Health and NHS teams is inspiring. Our whole hospital team has been fantastic, and I am very proud of what they continue to do as the COVID pandemic continues."
