About
Tom Bourne is a Professor of Gynaecology at Imperial College London and Hon Consultant Gynaecologist at Queen Charlottes and Chelsea Hospital London. He is also a visiting Professor at KU Leuven, Belgium. Previously, he was a lecturer at King's College Hospital, London from 1989 to 1994. Swedish MRC fellow, Goteborg University, Sweden, 1995 and Consultant Gynaecologist, St George's Hospital, London, 1996-2007.
Tom has an international reputation for the use of ultrasonography in gynaecology, including assessing early pregnancy problems (e.g. miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy). He has extensive experience in the use of ultrasound to investigate symptoms such as heavy periods, irregular periods, period changes, post-menopausal bleeding, irregular bleeding, pelvic pain and painful periods.
