About
Mr Sal Rassam qualified from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He gained his ophthalmic experience at various specialist hospitals in London. There he culminated his General Ophthalmic experience in disease of the eye and the latest Microsurgical Techniques in Cataract and Anterior Segment Surgery. He also undertook a year fellowship in Disease of the Retina and Vitreoretinal Surgery at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. A centre renowned for its excellence in bringing recent advances from different parts of the continent. He strives to keep up-to-date with latest research and techniques.
He spent 15 years as a consultant at Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust where he setup a state of the art Retina Unit at Worthing Hospital in West Sussex, UK. As part of a continuum, he is active in research on disease of the retina in particular Age Related Macular Degeneration.
He is a member of the “European Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons” where he shares his knowledge and experience with other leading surgeons in Europe in the field of Cataract & Refractive Surgery.
