Why choose Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital for your endoscopic treatment?

Our endoscopy unit is home to a team of expert consultants who have many years of experience performing endoscopy procedures.

There is a wheelchair-accessible car park, an entrance with disabled parking near the reception area, lifts and two wheelchair-accessible rooms with en-suite facilities, making the endoscopy unit accessible for our patients.

Following a referral from your GP, your consultant will make arrangements for your procedure in endoscopy. Your dedicated consultant will be with you throughout your treatment journey, ensuring everything goes smoothly.

Endoscopic procedures are performed as day cases, so you won't need to stay overnight. As a day case patient you will have access to our brand new Endoscopy Day Unit which will offer you:

  • Dedicated nursing in our newly refurbished day case suite
  • Direct access to consultants before during and after procedures
  • A dedicated team of Endoscopy nurses
  • Bespoke service for the patient journey
  • Point-to-point care in a safe caring unit

Our endoscopy unit has been awarded Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation for the quality standards provided, meaning our patients can have increased confidence whilst in the care of our endoscopy team.

Most procedures are carried out under sedation or local anaesthetic. Your consultant will discuss the options with you as well as any pre-operation instructions to follow.
