About
Mr Mohamed Maher is a full-time Plastic Surgery Consultant at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, which is one of the largest units in the country. As well as being a clinician, he is also the clinical governance lead for the department.
Mohamed has more than 19 years of experience in the field of plastic surgery. After graduating from medical school in Cairo – Egypt 2001, he finished his internship in medicine and surgery before joining his residency program in plastic surgery and graduating with a Master's Degree.
Furthermore, he completed his training in plastic, cosmetic, and reconstructive surgery in the UK where he worked in esteemed units, the likes of Royal Preston Hospital, and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He was awarded the European Board of plastic surgery (EBOPRAS) in 2014, as well as the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in plastic surgery (FRCS Plast) in 2016.
Mohamed has also been awarded The Baron Prize by the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons – BAPRAS. He also underwent specialist fellowships at Imperial College London and Broomfield Hospital Chelmsford to further refine his skills.
He enjoys performing cosmetic facial surgery, breast enhancing surgery, as well as body contouring – including post-massive weight loss, for both men and women. This is in addition to non-surgical aesthetic procedures.
On the NHS his practice also includes surgical and non-surgical management of skin cancer, reconstructive microsurgery as well as extremity reconstruction. He is on the GMC specialist register for plastic surgery as well as being on the training committee for plastic surgery trainees in the West Midlands.
