About
Mr Jamie Griffiths is a Trauma and Orthopaedic consultant with a specialist interest in primary, complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery. He qualified from Guys, Kings and St Thomas’ School of medicine, London in 2005. He completed his specialist registrar training in the Wessex region.
Throughout his career he has developed a specialist interest in pelvic, acetabular and hip reconstruction including hip resurfacing.
In 2014, he undertook a complex lower limb arthroplasty and lower limb reconstruction fellowship in Perth, Australia gaining extensive experience in complex hip and knee replacement surgery in conjunction with complex adult lower limb reconstructive surgery, following primary and metastatic bone tumour excision. Following this he completed two further lower limb arthroplasty fellowships in conjunction with a pelvic reconstruction and trauma fellowship in Denver Colorado, USA, before being appointed as a consultant at Hampshire Hospitals.
He is currently the arthroplasty lead for Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is involved in regional and national frameworks for complex hip replacement surgery. He has a strong interest in research and currently is principle investigator on several prospective studies assessing the performance of novel implants being introduced into the NHS.
