About

Mr Hosny is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in Lower Limb Primary and Revision Arthroplasty including Periprosthetic Fracture management, Lower limb Arthroscopy, and Trauma.

He received his sub-specialist training in Lower Limb Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty including a fellowship in Neuss (Germany), and a Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellowship at Plymouth (UK).

Mr Hosny has a special interest in research and completed a good number of research projects and has regular publications in peer-reviewed high impact journals. He also completed a Master's and PhD degrees in Orthopaedics, with his PhD thesis on Metal on Metal Hip Replacement Surgery.

In 2014, Mr Hosny was appointed as a Locum consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Derriford Hospital -Plymouth and was appointed to his substantive Consultant post at University Hospitals Plymouth in 2018.
