About

Dr Gandhi is a consultant interventional cardiologist with broad experience in all areas of heart disease. He is Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, and elected Fellow of the American Heart Association.

Dr Gandhi has extensive experience of assessment and treatment of chest pain (Angina), palpitation & irregular heart beat (Atrial Fibrillation) and shortness of breath (Heart Failure).

He undertakes angioplasty and stent insertion for patients with an acute heart attack.

Dr Gandhi has vast experience of undertaking cardiac catheterisation (coronary angiography), transoesophageal echocardiography to assess heart valve disease, and pacemaker implantation.


Cardiac Prevention

Dr Gandhi considers the prevention of heart disease as a priority, with treatment of high blood pressure, appropriate statin therapy, dietary and weight modification, and exercise.

Dr Gandhi has undertaken heart disease research over many years, presenting findings at scientific meetings globally, including Europe, USA and Australia. He was awarded honours for his MD, and was finalist of the prestigious young investigator award of the American Heart Association.

His publications in scientific journals include the management of patients following a heart attack (ref BMJ 2017;358:j3237), the development of heart attack patient support resources, and the psychological impact of heart disease.
