Dr. Stuart Cairns is a Consultant Physician and specialist in Gastroenterology. He trained at King's College Hospital, London, and later did higher medical training in Cambridge, The Middlesex and University College Hospitals in London. In 1988 he was appointed Coonsultant in Gastroenterology and General (Internal) Medicine to the Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust.
He is Director of the Brighton Endoscopy Training Centre and Honorary Lecturer to the Brighton & Sussex Medical School. He is also Clinical Director of the Sussex Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
Research:
Endoscopy, pancreatic and biliary disease, colon cancer and bowel cancer screening.
Other interests:
Bowel cancer screening. Endoscopy. Accredited bowel cancer screening colonoscopist.
Personal interests:
Dr. Cairns is married with three children (now grown up) and lives just outside of Brighton. He enjoys tennis, travel, music and walking along the South Downs.
