Susan had six months of intensive rehabilitation as part of our Major Trauma Enhanced Rehab Programme

Finding a way home, away from the ‘Covid clouded atmosphere’ of the hospital, became Susan's guiding light during the early days of recovery from a life-altering event.

Little did she know that her journey had just begun, as her injuries ushered in a wave of profound changes - physically, emotionally, and socially.

About the Major Trauma Enhanced Rehab Programme

The Major Trauma Enhanced Rehab programme is a partnership between Nuffield Health, Manchester University Foundation Trust and Northern Care Alliance NHS Trust. The foundations of the project are built around the legacy work undertaken at MIHP following the Manchester Arena Bombing in 2017.

Patients who have been affected by major trauma have suffered life-altering injuries, which severely impact their function, mental health and wellbeing. Treatment is delivered by an interdisciplinary team of surgeons, consultants, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, with Nuffield Health well placed to support with the provision of specialist equipment, facilities and expertise.
